Microgaming Release New The Phantom of the Opera Slot

Fantastical music and a twisted love story are what await Microgaming players, as the Isle of Man based company has recently released a new slot machine, called The Phantom of the Opera. It’s yet another branded title that has made its way into their collection, further cementing them as a software developer that brings popular culture to life.

Although it’s been several years since the widely acclaimed film adaptation was released, which saw a revenue of $154 million, the passion for the story is as strong today as it was in 2004. To retell this beautiful tale, Microgaming have provided us with a 3×5 matrix, comprised of 243 ways to play, ensuring that we get high doses of nostalgia and variance. Inside the grid, players will be able to listen to the score of the film, as well as meet many of the iconic characters along the way.

Microgaming have seem determined to not just provide us with another pretty face but substance as well, which is why the game is so diverse in its game features; there’s five different bonus rounds in total. Some of these can be activated from the base game, while others launch from a winning combination of scatter symbols.

One of the first bonuses is that of The Letter Bonus, a simple yet effective feature that only occurs when a letter lands on the 5th reel. When this happens, a random amount of money will be award to users. Then we have The Chandelier Bonus, a feature that is in relation to one of the films most memorable scenes: when the Phantom cuts down the chandelier. In this instance, customers will watch as the screen blackens, with the chandelier sent crashing down, turning as many as three reels into wilds.

Moving on, we have the scatter symbol related bonuses, in which users need to create a combination of scatters in order to choose from three options. There’s The Masquerade Bonus, which allows players to be in charge of their fate: the higher they climb up this tier based system, the greater the prizes will become. However, should they run out of places to move, they’ll be returned to the base game.

Following this is the All I Ask of You Bonus, where gamers will be given 10 free spins, enhanced by the Dancing Wilds feature. The characters of Christine and Raoul become wild symbols, dancing across the grid and granting rewards when they’re positioned in a specific way. Finally, we then have the Music of the Night Bonus, where players will receive another 10 spins, only this time a variety of other extras can come into play, such as multipliers and extra bonus spins.

When asked to comment on the creation of this new title, David Reynolds, the Games Publisher at Microgaming, had this to say:

The Phantom of the Opera is a mesmeric game, combining a new game mechanic with visually stunning artwork and a musical score that is legendary. There has been much hype about the slot since we unveiled our plans at ICE in February and I’m delighted that the stage is now set and it is ready to launch with our vast operator base. Our incredibly talented game studio have truly realised the brand.

If you’re interested in playing this new game from the brand, it is now available at a range of online casinos, with its official release date having been November 1st 2017.
