Spanish Blackjack

Spanish Blackjack

One online Blackjack variant which may appeal to some players is the game of Spanish Blackjack which can be played at any Microgaming software powered online casino site.

This is a rather unique and unusual type of Blackjack game which is available as a standard Single-Hand game or a Multi-hand game on which you can play up to a maximum of five hands per game.

What makes Spanish Blackjack unique is that is has fewer cards in each deck, and incidentally there are eight of these special decks in the shoe.

There are just 48 cards in each of those eight decks as all of the 10 cards have been removed. There are also a special set of bonus payouts which you will be awarded for being dealt certain hands when playing this Blackjack game. If you’re looking for a Spanish Blalckjack strategy card, there’s one at the bottom of the page.

The game does not require a bonus type side bet to trigger these bonus payouts and a minimum stake of just 1.00 is required to play this game for real money at any Microgaming online casino site.

Dealer Rules

The Dealer will deal to himself a Hole Card in addition to his up facing initial card and will peek at that Hole Card when his up facing card is a 10 valued or an Ace card.

If the Dealer has dealt himself a hand worth a Soft 17 or anything lower then he will Hit his hand until such a time as it contains a Hard 17 or anything higher in value in which case he will then Stand his hand.

Player Rules

Player’s will be able to Double Down their hand on any number of cards and can also Re-Double Down a hand once. Late Surrender is always available to players and this can be taken even after Doubling Down any hand.

Splitting both Pairs and unalike 10 valued cards is allowed and players can also Double Down after Splitting a Hand.

Aces can be Re-Split and those Split Aces can have more than one card dealt to them and you can also Double Down on a Split Ace.

Payouts

Playing Spanish Blackjack will see you getting paid out for all winning Blackjack hands at odds of 3 to 2 and even money for all other wagers. A winning Insurance bet pays out at odds of 2 to 1.

However you can always qualify for some additional bonus payouts as follows which for reference are not paid on hands which you have made a Double Down on.

A 5, 6 or 7 card 21 Players hand is paid out at odds of 3 to 2, 2 to 1 and 3 to 1 respectively. A payout of 3 to 2 is always offered when a player has a 6, 7, 8 or 7, 7, 7 mixed suit hand, if in the same suit this payout becomes 2 to 1 and if dealt in the suit of Spades the payout for this hand becomes 3 to 1.

If the Dealers facing upwards card is a 7 and your hand contains (not after Splitting) a suited 7, 7, 7 your initial staked amount is paid out at odds of 50 to 1.
